A Voice

Part of the Henry County's CIC’s efforts to connect our businesses to our state legislative leaders is to hold legislative gathering events.  These events allow our state representative legislative aides to tour our county businesses and spend time one-on-one, hearing their concerns or answering their questions.  On top of the CIC’s advocacy connection, Henry County is lucky to currently have two political leaders residing here in Napoleon. 

Ohio State Senator Rob McColley, District 1 and Ohio Representative Jim Hoops, District 81, both live in Napoleon and are always willing to take the time to meet with our local businesses and community to discuss their concerns or views.  They are the voice of Henry County in the political realm and represent the people of rural communities like Henry County.  State Representative Jim Hoops, a 1977 Patrick Henry High School graduate is serving his second full term in the Ohio House, and recently announced the Ohio House passed House Bill 66, his legislation that provides more transparency for local property tax exemptions.  State Senator McColley, a 2003 graduate of Napoleon High School, also previously served as the 81^st Ohio House District Representative.  As the previous Executive Director for the Henry County CIC, his focus was aimed at the local workforce development efforts between manufacturers and schools in Henry county.  That focus remains today, as McColley stays connected to the Henry County CIC and will always advocate for our local workforce development.
